Upgrade your Game Boy DMG from its low powered AA battery compartment to a drop-in USB C rechargeable battery pack. The RetroSix/Hand Held Legend CleanJuice Original for Game Boy adds 9.25 watts of power (compared to 2 watt for the largest AA batteries available) giving you almost 5 times the game time!
*This version is smaller in thickness compared to the DMG XL Cleanjuice.
FEATURES:
- Charge at any time using a regular USB C cable, and even reverse charge the console from your phone if it supports power share. That means you can charge your GB while you are out, using your phone battery.
- Connect battery to CleanJuice board (only fits in one way so don't worry).
- Remove top shell battery spring. Leave the bottom two.
- Place battery into shell with the wire coming out at the bottom left corner, and the battery pushing the top left spring in.
- Push the battery down at the bottom end.
- Place CleanJuice board on top of battery and push the springs down to make contact with top battery springs.
- Use a RetroSix USB C battery cover (sold separately, in various colors), or cut a hole for the USB C port using a 4mm drill bit and drill 3 holes in the center of the battery cover as shown in the image.
- Put the back cover on the console, and you are ready to go.

- If the module is loose in the battery housing, you may use foam padding to hold it in place.

NOTES:
- Port on CleanJuice modules will rest at opening of battery cover. This means you do not insert the port into the opening but it sits flush with the cover.

Light Indicator Key:
- If the PG labeled light on the board is on, this means the USB cable is providing power to the system. This also means you can power your console from the USB without draining the battery - plug and play option.
- If the CHRG labeled light on the board is on, this means the USB is charging the battery. When it goes off, the battery is fully charged.
- Both indicator lights will be on when module is charging. When module is fully charged, only the PG light will remain.
- If you connect a USB cable and the PG light does not turn on, your cable or power supply are faulty.

Purchases are eligible for return within 30 days of purchase. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return. If a backlight/LCD is returned and shows any signs of having been installed, it will not be eligible for a refund.
Requested returns/refunds/exchanges for items you believe to be defective, will be subject to a troubleshooting process with our support team before proceeding with a return/replacement/refund.
Modifying a product in any way, including but not limited to removing or adding components, will result in the voiding of our return/refund policy.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Defective or damaged parts are free to return within 30 days of purchase. Shipping costs are not covered for items returned at a customer's request or the refusal of the troubleshooting process with our support. Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.
Please note that international orders are not eligible for a prepaid shipping label for returns on defective products. Returns must be paid for by the customer.

We reserve the right to deduct an amount proportional to the chosen shipping return method from your refund if you order does not quality for a free return:

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, within 1-7 business days.
Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account. Then contact your bank or credit card company. It may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

You may cancel or edit orders yourself (before fulfillment) by following the steps in this guide. If you edit/cancel your order, you can expect a refund within 1 to 7 business days. Orders that have been fulfilled by our shipping team cannot have edits made or be canceled. No cut install if you order a pre cut back plate. Easy install.
My first order was completely unusable as the way the pcb is packaged in a tiny ziplock it puts pressure on the battery terminals. So when I received the first order the positive terminal was completely broken off and unrepairable. The support team did send me out a new one promptly which was great service but the second pcb had the same issue but wasn’t completely broken off so I was able to fix with solder. Got it installed and working and just like others the battery life is awful going completely dead overnight without use. Only convenience is that it’s rechargeable. Overall wouldn’t recommend. I may just go back to rechargeable aa batteries instead.

Installation was relatively simple, and shouldn't pose a threat for any competent DIY-er and modder. However, I too have noticed that the discharge rate of the battery is shockingly high.. talking completely dead without use after as short as 8 hours. New battery cover was a worthwhile replacement for one I'd been missing since childhood, especially since it allows you to charge while playing.

A rechargeable power source quickly becomes a must when you have an IPS Display & light-up buttons!
The charging light is a great addition as well.
i got this because i got tired wasting alot of AA batteries. i have try rechargeable batteries but it didn't have enough amps to power the console that was fully modded. this lithium battery is the best option for my needs.
Installation was ridiculously simple. Unit fit perfectly in OG Gameboy. Highly recommend getting the available battery door with the USB-C port pre-cut.
