Let's be perfectly honest here, this is a cheap way to use your gameboy in darker enviroments. For the $10 I got it for, it was amazing, but I wouldn't spend anymore than $20 on one. It's not a funnyplaying ips pannel, so its not gonna win any clarity or picture quality awards, but it gets the job done, I've actually used my gbc more since getting it. If you're on a tight budget, go for it, or if you dont care about picture quality, get it. If you're looking for the best possible way to play your gameboy color games on original hardware, you'd best look elsewhere. I'd reccommend the funnyplaying ips kit, I've heard it's great, here's a link to it: https://handheldlegend.com/products/game-boy-color-ips-v2-lcd-backlight
Decided to give the front light mod a try because I hate my work light. Very simple install even with the Loca. I used sunlight to cure it and it came out great. Might not be as great as an LCD upgrade but you can't beat it for the price.
GBC front light V.2 review
Awesome I had a super easy time installing with the loca already installed
This thing is the cheapest way to get a quality light on a GBC and making it way more playable. LOCA is an absolute must! The install is straightforward and pretty easy to do. Frontlight gives an authentic feel to the GBC looking like stock but being able to see it at night. Definitely recommend it.
