I had one that went on no issue and another where the solder pad for the ground came off for seemingly no reason. That's what you get for $3.99 I guess. Time for an IPS.
Got this installed and working well with the backlight mod. A couple notes, though: you'll want to trim down the main board's pins for PIN1, PIN3, and the VCC so you can solder them without issue. Also, be a bit mindful of the ground wire contact on the module: I might have used too hot of an iron and it seemed to peel up a bit, though not irreparably so. Just be careful.
Great little chip and easy to install. A must have if you don’t want to do an entire LCD display swap on your DMG1. Makes all the difference when accompanied with their screen replacement as well.
Having this added to my DMG made a HUGE difference. It wasn't too terribly difficult to install but does require soddering and some ammount of precision but was absolutly worth it.
