When I opened it up and couldn't remove the inner cover paper I thought "the website said it was scratch resistant" so I should be good to use a razor just to start the paper. The razor however scratched the inside of the screen on the black boarder. When I tried to cover it, I smudged the inside of the screen and as I tried to clean it, It only smudged it further. I installed it after getting it as clean as I could but I still think it looks bad.
I've soldered consoles back from the dead and modded just about every retro system for RGB video, but this has got to be the most infuriating install that I've done.
When I submitted a ticket to them it got hand waved away with them saying that they have instructions for installation on the site and to be careful because screen covers scratch easily. But the product description says it's scratch resistant and the "installation instructions" link on the website returns a 404 error.
A lot of the lens that I received were scratched. How can I take pride in my consoles if the most important part is scratched up? Considering the amount I spent I had higher expectations.
Please contact support if you received a scratched lens and we can replace it. Thank you.
Having the precut shell made life so much easier. Solid quality all around.
