The board I'm sure works great, if you can get it to sit down and stay properly. Spent close to 40 minutes on just the ground point trying to have it stay down, 3.3v power was the only point that actually sat properly. Does not sit well on the buttons either, had to trim some plastic to even attempt the job. All in all, poor, would be better with different solder points.

    Love this mod

I'm just getting into modding SPs, and I decided to put this on my second ever project. The install wasn't too hard, you just have to make sure that all of the solder points are soldered down correctly and that the board doesn't lift (I've found that holding down parts of the board with tweezers while you solder helps, along with a lot of flux).

My one complaint is that it makes some of the buttons feel weird, but that's a minor thing when you consider the awesome aesthetic you get out of it. Still need to solder in the brightness control wire, so I haven't tested that out yet.

This is my favorite led back light for the Gameboy Advanced SP that I have found. There are various customizations that can make your build more personalized.

    I love it

Really solid board and very easy to install. I can see why people are bricking their consoles though. You need to make sure all of the points are soldered on before you actually turn it on. Make sure you're especially checking the ground. If you can pull up the flex board, it is NOT installed correctly. I absolutely love this thing though. It was an easy install, and the boot up color wave is so perfect.

    One major problem

I can’t change modes. I followed the links to the guides but to no avail. Instructions says to hold down “select” then tap “right” on the d-pad to change modes. Doesn’t work. When I hold “select” and tap “left” on the d-pad it changes screen brightness….

    Works and it's amazing

    Hi everyone,
I purchased the LED flexboard despite having zero experience in soldering. It wasn't easy to install, but with a lot of patience I managed it, and I can assure you that the result is fantastic. (installed on transparent black shell and clear buttons)
