The rounded edges of the connector are supposed to be on the top, not the bottom. So it will not fit in your N64, I thought maybe it was just installed upside down, no it's literally designed upside down.. If you want to use it, you'll have to file and cut down the rounded edges of the bottom of the connector, like I did in the photo. Mine still isn't perfect but I got it to plugin far enough to test at least, it does work great otherwise.
