Wonderful upgrade - moderate difficulty

The first one of these screens I installed I used the flex ribbon and I did not have a lot of luck. I unsoldered everything and I used wires instead which I personally found easier. Don’t be afraid to hard wire this board. It’s def worth considering as an option esp if the flex ribbon isn’t available. The display is gorgeous and is one of the best upgrades I’ve ever put in a hand held.

Works Great

This is a fairly hard mod, just take it slow. Follow directions and you should have no problems. EXCEPT I would plug in the screen to the board before **** in spacers. Plug it in first then fold it over. Flex cable seems to short and hard to insert if you do it like instructions IMO. Used the wire free hookups for 1-chip. Looks great.

Easy Install

This part was very easy and clean to install, especially using the retrosix wire free install ribbons the hardest part was counting the pins on the original LCD connection

Easy to do, Screen ribbon is difficult

Did 3 of theses, and they got easier with experience. The ribbon on the back of the screen is way to short and it off center by about 3/16th of an inch. If the ribbon was longer the off center wouldn’t matter. Just make the ribbon about 1/4 inch longer, all issues solved.

Easy enough for a noob.

Dude this thing is sick! Install was pretty easy for a novice!

Very nice.

Night and day difference between original display and the Cleanscreen. Install was straightforward, using the ribbon cable. There are different modes like full screen, stretch, zoom in, and zoomed out. Also you can use scanlines with each mode. All you have to do to switch between modes is hold the 2 button, start, and press/hold the left directional for 2 seconds. Also the brightness is adjustable with the wheel on the side of the console. And for people having trouble with the ribbon cable on the screen being short, just plug the screen into the Cleanscreen board before installing into the console (before **** the brackets to the board.)
