Luckily they have a how to video on this, I would suggest looking at that since the way I was trying at first got me nowhere. You definitely need some type of soldering experience to pull this off but the end result is definitely satisfying.

Was possible with an iron.

This probably would have been trivial with a hot-air station, but it was doable with an iron. I had to use some tiny tweezers to bend the data pins away from the pads one-at-a-time, and then shimmy the plug back-and-forth with the ground pins. It just takes lots of patience and flux.

very good, easy welding and works perfect. highly recommended compared to market alternatives

Works on GB MICRO

You will have to make some Dremel cuts to the metal and plastic spacer in order for things to fit back.
The only thing I had to add was a tiny wire for ground to connect 💪.
