    WARNINGS:

    • You do not need to purchase a separate lens. Removing pre-adhered lens from LCD can result in damage to the LCD and will void product warranty. If you received an extra lens in your order, this was likely a included plastic lens with a shell and should NOT be placed on top of the pre-adhered lens.
    • Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return.
    • LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.

    2nd try's a charm

from previous experience I ordered this new shell and screen. looked good but apparently the small ribbon was damaged during installation, so I ended up investing and ordering a 2nd. Didn't help the instruction link on this page is DEAD, so had to do additional research from videos and other builds. Just finished this complicated repair for the 2nd time after so much trouble-shooting the first go-around. Not a fan of the color changes or tint, keep setting it off by accident whenever I touch the back bezel or screen.

I would recommend re-reading everything several times if you motivated to try it. not much soldering involved, but it's more advanced and if you haven't taken an SP apart before you'll make mistakes.

Hope to update after some time to see how it holds up. the AV out to the TV is cool and thankfully works without issue.

    The best IPS option IMO

The FunnyPlaying kits are brighter but also tend to pull more power overall and require a seperate board to provide a TV out function. With this at $10 more than the FunnyPlaying kit (and $50 for the HDMI out kit) you can buy an AV converter for $10-20 and save a good bit of money while using less power. Install was easy. The only issue I ran into was the IPS modified shells do not close completely with this kit and may require (very little) trimming with a craft knife.

    A tough mod for sure

SPs are notoriously tricky to begin with but I ended up losing a node on my ribbon cable during the installation attempt. I’ve ordered a replacement so hopefully second time is a charm.

    Great product

The screen itself is great and the av out is super fun. My only problem is the touch sensor for the color seems to have stopped working properly after only a few days. It had now begun to switch on its own and doesn't always respond to touch anymore.

    Great product. Very fragile!

The ipsv3 definitely works as intended. There are some cons though.
    1. The audio REQUIRES an audio jack through your charge port. Which means no charging while in use.
    2. Battery consumption. This should be a duh moment but I am referring the TV out mechanic. It uses far more than you think.
    3. Screen fragility. Be extremely carefully not only installing this but using this. The glass is very fragile and to be honest should not have been used in lue of plastic of other material.

Overall satisfied but disappointed in my own recklessness.
