I used this to test the gameboy I've had for years after a power supply, bivert, and backlight mod. It's something I should have gotten a long time ago. Being able to not only check the outer workings of the device, but also the internal components is a great help!
I LOVE this so much! I may not be able to test the shoulder buttons on an Advance or SP, BUT you can still use them and see if the screen gets filled or not and it still allows you to test it! It is such a wonderful tool and VERY helpful when testing multiple GB's over time!
A nice thing to have, not completely necessary, but it makes you feel like a Nintendo tech! My copy had some trouble when I first tested it, the "game" would go blank, but I opened it up, cleaned the PCB and it works perfectly now. All in all a cool little cart to have
