I am surprised to see so many h good reviews for this product. I love the look of this screen. I like the color pallet. I hate how bad screen burn is on this. Leaving a static image on a screen for a less than 5 min leaves screen burn. You can see a ghost image left on the screen. It has multiple images burned into it to a point that it becomes almost unplayable. It’s a bummer because I really want to like this. Do I have a defective screen?

The installation is super easy with the flat cable. High soldering skill is not needed, but it does require it. Very pleased with the quality of the picture and the ease of install.

Amazing display, easy to install. I have only used a soldering iron twice and I had no issues soldering the ribbon to the board. The bracket works but I feel like I would have had better results if I had used adhesive to hold the screen in place. Play sessions are about 2 hours and have not seen any drop in performance or any noise.

The control options that this screen has are some of the best that I have seen on a GBA screen. Adjusting the brightness to whatever needs you have (this is the option I use the most). Changing the color themes from True Color, IPS (saturated), Greyscale, and DMG (old-school Gameboy green). True Motion to keep images from flickering on screen (things like map overlays in racing games). It even has a pixel grid that can be simulated on the screen. With these options, and the matte finish of the screen, this is by far the best looking screen I have seen in a modified GBA.

In order to get the screen controls there is a bit of soldering that needs to happen. However, this is some of the simplest soldering that can be done. It’s only a ribbon cable that has 3 points of solder. Even a novice like myself with a cheap soldering iron could do this with no issue.

All that being said, this is a more expensive option when it comes to replacement screens, but with the options/functions it gives you, the ease of installing the screen, and the actual look of the thing, this is my new go to. This definitely helps to update the retro gaming of the GBA and modernize it.

The kit is very solid and well constructed, and probably the easiest to install on the market. The screen isn’t quite as nice as an IPS, but still very good, and the OSD and feature set is great. But how is this being advertised as “low power”? Compared to what? It draws more current than an IPS kit!
