  • Identical size to the original screen.
  • Zero lag/ghosting/tearing/flickering/light bleeding.
  • Infinitely adjustable brightness (using OSD).

  • Color Modes [True Color/IPS/Grey/DMG] (using OSD).
  • Screen Position Adjust (using OSD).
  • True Motion for transparency support (using OSD).

  • 1x TFT LCD
  • 1x PCB
  • 1x  Button Ribbon
  • 1x  Bracket
  • 1x 40 or 32 Pin Ribbon

  • To install the Game Boy Advance CleanScreen just remove the old screen and connect the CleanScreen. Optionally solder a handful of pads onto the board with no wires (if you use the optional wire-free kit) to enable the on screen menu. Install can be done in a matter of minutes.
  • The CleanScreen can be installed without trimming anything, but to achieve a perfect seal with the frame, the plastic dimples should be trimmed and sanded down. This is fully optional, as the difference is extremely small to begin with, and is only recommended if you want to have it perfectly flush against the frame or use a dust-guard kit to ensure no dust can ever come between the screen and the lens.
  • Use OEM or original size lens for this mod.
  • Created by RetroSix.

  • Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return.
  • LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.

Awful screen burn in

I am surprised to see so many h good reviews for this product. I love the look of this screen. I like the color pallet. I hate how bad screen burn is on this. Leaving a static image on a screen for a less than 5 min leaves screen burn. You can see a ghost image left on the screen. It has multiple images burned into it to a point that it becomes almost unplayable. It’s a bummer because I really want to like this. Do I have a defective screen?

Thanks for your review! Please reach out to us at so we may look into this for you!

Easy install

The installation is super easy with the flat cable. High soldering skill is not needed, but it does require it. Very pleased with the quality of the picture and the ease of install.

Very easy install even for beginners.

Amazing Display, top of the line.

Amazing display, easy to install. I have only used a soldering iron twice and I had no issues soldering the ribbon to the board. The bracket works but I feel like I would have had better results if I had used adhesive to hold the screen in place. Play sessions are about 2 hours and have not seen any drop in performance or any noise.

My New Go-To Screen Replacement

The control options that this screen has are some of the best that I have seen on a GBA screen. Adjusting the brightness to whatever needs you have (this is the option I use the most). Changing the color themes from True Color, IPS (saturated), Greyscale, and DMG (old-school Gameboy green). True Motion to keep images from flickering on screen (things like map overlays in racing games). It even has a pixel grid that can be simulated on the screen. With these options, and the matte finish of the screen, this is by far the best looking screen I have seen in a modified GBA.

In order to get the screen controls there is a bit of soldering that needs to happen. However, this is some of the simplest soldering that can be done. It’s only a ribbon cable that has 3 points of solder. Even a novice like myself with a cheap soldering iron could do this with no issue.

All that being said, this is a more expensive option when it comes to replacement screens, but with the options/functions it gives you, the ease of installing the screen, and the actual look of the thing, this is my new go to. This definitely helps to update the retro gaming of the GBA and modernize it.

Good, but not low power.

The kit is very solid and well constructed, and probably the easiest to install on the market. The screen isn’t quite as nice as an IPS, but still very good, and the OSD and feature set is great. But how is this being advertised as “low power”? Compared to what? It draws more current than an IPS kit!

Thanks for your review! We did our own testing and found that this kit does draw slightly less power than regular IPS kits but it is mostly equal. After reviewing this info with the vendor, we have decided to remove that information from the product page as it is a minimal difference.
