GC Ultimate Controller Kit - Funded with Kickstarter

I was really excited about this controller because it seemed to be my perfect controller. But once I got it, I realized that the left joystick has less travel than the original GameCube. It's different enough that it messes up my inputs when playing smash. I'm pretty disappointed, especially since it's advertised as "Authentic Form Factor: Maintains a 1:1 footprint with the original GameCube controller."

A few other software quirks to be aware of but aren't dealbreakers: you can't wake the switch with the controller, can't pair for wireless use on switch with a cable, can't use wired without changing switch setting, and can't charge it without the lights turning on

Other than installing the mechanical triggers it was a easy. Definitely need to include trigger shields. Seen multiple other builds that use trigger shields to hold the mechanical triggers in place. Include that and it's definitely a 5 star product. Other than that it's a great very happy with it can't wait to break it in more!

I've been using the GameCube controller for over 20 years now (man that makes me feel old...) and its my controller of choice for platform fighters. I've been on the lookout for a premium controller to play Smash and Rivals with and this is it.
It feels really nice to use, buttons are satisfying to press and the sticks are great with no snapback (that I've been able to find anyway). I've been using the analog triggers (It comes with a mechanical trigger option as well) and I'm very happy with them.
I've always had issues with my triggers either getting held too long or not activated quick enough and I've had no such issues with the GC Ultimate thus far.
On the software side of things you have options for calibrating the sticks and triggers, in addition to button remapping if you'd like that. You can also change the way the buttons and left stick light up which is a nice touch.
The controller supports several connectivity options and all the ones I've tried have worked well without much hassle. I've tried USB-C to USB-A and wireless connection with Switch and PC, as well as USB-C to GameCube on Wii and the GameCube controller adapter. My only problem has been remembering what button to hold as I plug the controller in to swap modes but that's not a fault of the controller and something I'm sure I'll get used to. The controller having all the standard buttons including a home button makes using it on Switch a lot more convenient. I can't speak for the battery life just yet as I've been using it wired a fair amount, though I can't imagine it being much of an issue.
Assembling the controller was fairly simple, the video guide is easy to follow and there's not that much that can go wrong as long as you take your time and follow the instructions. If you've disassembled and reassembled a GameCube controller before you'll do fine. Keep in mind that you will need a T6 and T8 screwdriver bit. My kit arrived with screwdrivers but I don't know if that will be the case for non-kickstarter kits. Other than that tweezers are nice to have for inserting the ribbon cable. I did have a piece damaged in shipping but luckily it was just that one of the clips for the trigger bracket had snapped off which didn't end up mattering since you secure it with screws anyway.
All in all, if you're in the market for a premium GameCube controller option, the GC Ultimate is definitely worth considering.

Best GC controller I've used. Not having to use an adapter for rivals or slippi is a dream, and wirelessly too!

This controller gets the job done and feels amazing to use. Very close to the gamecube controller and the led lights are cool

3年経過してケーブル接続部が接触不良を頻繁に起こすようになったのを機に購入しました
操作感覚はLRメカニカルトリガーがすぐに反応し、細かい跳ね戻りの調整も出来てとても良い
Lスティックのガイドの○と八角の切り替えを気軽にしやすい
気になる点はカッターで削らないとトリガーを繋ぐケーブルが組み立て中に損傷しやすいのと、ABXYボタンが少々硬いところです。
