The best addition to the name brand joy cons

Adding the dpad is basically the best change you can make to the original joy cons. The only thing better would be adding more grip to them.

The buttons are a perfect fit and feel very nice in their matching D-pad modded shell, but I think it should be noted here somewhere that these buttons are painted; at least the "Light Violet" buttons I received were painted. To be clear, this means that the color is not added via pigmentation during the plastic manufacturing process, but they are apparently white buttons painted over with the specified color.

The paint coverage is perfect, the color is uniform, and all the indentations and details in the buttons look and feel crisp and legible. They have the slightly rough matte feeling of a fresh powder-coat, but will likely become smoother with use. The only thing that remains to be seen is how well the color will hold up to the constant handling of a game controller. If you're doing this mod for someone clumsy, just be aware that any scratches or scuffs will likely remove the paint and reveal the color of the plastic underneath.

They’re orange…still buttons tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Quality cosmetic upgrade

Buttons seem to be of great quality. Chameleon paint is nice and even, no imperfections. Home button may have to be sanded down to fit in translucent ring.
