I love my original pocket adapteri personally have one in each case, at home, work, and car. The GCPA+ is truly incredible. It is even smaller than the original GCPA, more inputs, same performance as the Lossless adapter, smaller than Lossless, less expensive than Lossless, more compatability than anything on the market, LEDs are an awesome QoL feature, updates are super easy, and it even has a lanyard loop! You seriously cannot go wrong with this purchase. You can't even get an OEM on eBay for this price and the GCPA+ has so much more to offer. HHL really hit one out of the park with this one. I bought 2 but will definitely get one for all of my esports and T.O. buddies.

It made a big difference to my consistency. My inputs no longer drop, so my combos go much further. I already beat hbox and m2k just this morning.
Huge bummer, but in practice the item works very well. It seems that with older controllers it'll just completely ruin the pins. It just mashed mine rendering it unusable. Purchase at your own risk.

After some thorough research by our team, we found that this damage is limited to OEM controllers that have previously been used with *GameCube Extension Cable* type products and/or *GameCube RaphNet Adapter* type products. Both of these feature the same female plug, which was not properly toleranced for OEM controllers. After plugging in an OEM controller to either of these products one time, the pins become un-seated from the lower plastic guiderail inside the connector. This will leave the controller functional, but primes it to have its pins pushed in.

This product will push the pins of your gamecube controller port inside of the housing and destroy your controller. Do not purchase this terrible product.

Wow! This thing is amazing, it works with no extra drivers, has consistent polling, and a wonderful community supporting it. It's way smaller than I thought it would be, which is great for travelling. Will definitely be recommending this adapter to everyone I know that plays online melee
The only thing I would say is that the ball bearings are a bit tricky to put into the adapter.
Here's a quick tip, put your bearings in first and then set your springs in afterwards, that way the bearings wont slip all around :D
I'm sure the adapter is probably okay but tbh it didn't come with clear instructions on how the software you need to run it works I had no problem playing on dolphin without the software but trying to run it on slippi the controller didn't show up I tried downloading the hoja adapter setup and it kept saying device not read I watched all the handheld legend gcc adapter videos didn't manage to get any information about the software/problem I gave up after a couple hours and 30$ is a hefty price for something I won't use not to mention you have to build it and it doesn't come with star wrench (it takes a little bit of dexterity to get the little balls and screws in without messing up and jumbling it)
Thanks for your review! Regarding the issue with Slippi, the adapter should work with it. You need to change the mode through the button presses with no controller inserted and cycle until the LED turns Cyan, which is Slippi mode. If you are still unable to use this product with Slippi, please reach out to us at support@handheldlegend.com so we may troubleshoot this with you. Regarding the remainder of the review, the cost of the adapter is actually lower since this is something you assemble yourself - no labor charge for something already assembled. This can also be a fun DIY project for those who like to mod/assemble items such as this. We don't list a screwdriver as an item included with the kit but we do list that this kit includes T6 torx screws, which would indicate what kind of screwdriver you would need.

When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return. If a backlight/LCD is returned and shows any signs of having been installed, it will not be eligible for a refund.
Requested returns/refunds/exchanges for items you believe to be defective, will be subject to a troubleshooting process with our support team before proceeding with a return/replacement/refund.
Modifying a product in any way, including but not limited to removing or adding components, will result in the voiding of our return/refund policy.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
