I missed having a D-Pad when I played games on the Switch. Granted it's not used often but I don't take the joy cons off the Switch and play in either handheld or docked with a PS4 controller via 8Bitdo USB adapter.
Feels like good quality plastic, much smoother then the normal 4 directional buttons.
