USING FEATURES:
- The leads of the START and SELECT buttons are retained on the ribbon.
- START + touch = increase brightness
- SELECT + touch = decrease brightness
- Press START and SELECT simultaneously for 1 second to switch the display effect. (Short press the sensor button to cycle 7-segment brightness adjustment, long press to switch the display effect.)
- To Move Left and Right: Hold Start and Select for 5 seconds, pressing start and select will then shift screen. Press touch sensor to swap direction you are moving. Press touch sensor two more times to go back to moving left and right. Save by holding start and select again for 5 seconds.

- This kit now has a touch sensor already included on the black ribbon cable. You may use this one by simply folding into the front or back of the shell. A separate touch sensor ribbon is no longer included.
- After installation, if it is noted that your touch sensor is overly sensitive or is cycling, please see this article for assistance.

Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return.
- LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Defective or damaged parts are free to return within 30 days of purchase. Shipping costs are not covered for items returned at a customer's request or the refusal of the troubleshooting process with our support. Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.
Please note that international orders are not eligible for a prepaid shipping label for returns on defective products. Returns must be paid for by the customer.

Unfortunately for me, 4th time was the charm. None of these attempts were the fault of HHL.
I'm using it for a GBC in a Boxy Pixel case.
For attempt 1, I unfortunately got dust between the glass and the display.
Attempt 2, I realized that the IPS screen is larger than stock, and really wasn't pointed out well that you need the IPS glass/lens for the larger size
Attempt 3, the screen was DOA
Attempt 4, it is now "complete" however, the lens leaves gaps on the edges and there's some bleed... But there is also no guidance for where best to align the screen to the lens... So even with Max adjustment, I can't move the image far enough down in Y to make it take up the whole lens, leaving a black bar.
So, not perfect, but it is usable until my OCD gets the best of me.
Really brings life and color to games i never even saw as a kid, I wish there was a way to make the screens solderless because it’s constantly nerve wracking that you’re going to **** up but other than that I’m extremely happy and their customer service is considerate thoughtful and on point and I’m definitely shopping for parts through them in the foreseeable future

I bought this screen to use with a boxy pixel aluminum front shell and it fit perfectly! You don’t even have to adhere, it drops right in to the aluminum housing. I did solder all the wires so I could have all the functionality and it came in handy to be able to position the screen. It’s also a nice touch that you get a screen lens for free when buying this ips display in particular.

I'll get the bad bit out of the way first: there is a significant chance you'll receive a defective display. That's not HHL's fault, or even Funnyplaying's, the panels are just 10-year-old new-old stock for a smartphone that fizzled. The good news is, if you do get a bad display like I did, Handheld Legend will get you a replacement, so all you're really out is shipping time.
Now for the good stuff: this is hands-down the best display upgrade available for the GBC as of Q1 2022. It's big, bright, vibrant, and feature-rich with no issues like frame tearing or stutter. Colors look as good as you'd expect off-angle, the grid effects are neat, and being able to adjust the alignment is a nice touch. Pro-tip: both the 1.0 and 2.0 (Laminated) versions use the same flex PCB controller, so any features on the 2.0 kit are also available in this one. That means that yes: the colored logo backlighting is present, and yes: you can turn it off if it's causing light bleed. (And all the settings save, so you don't have to redo them every time you power on) I recommend using a shell designed for the Q5 LCD for best results, but you can absolutely trim a stock-style shell if you're so inclined.
The power draw is significantly higher than stock, and the stock voltage regulator does get noisy at full brightness, but the noise is only significant if you're running a bigger speaker amp. Since the -18v power supply is no longer necessary with this display, completely replacing the stock voltage regulator with a more modern regulator is a good option to reduce the noise. In any case, you will chew through batteries more quickly. Take all of that as you will.
