This is the best mod anyone can do to there original Gameboy. The screen is very clear and gives new life to the old Gameboy.

Great IPS display from Hispeedido. Installation was easy, and the result was just great. Here' s some tips for beginners like me:
Since I used an original shell, I need to cut some extra pillars to fit LCD despite the stay has holes for them.
If you feel that the contrast dial is too stiff after installation, you need to loosen the screws just a bit near the dial.

Just follow the instructions and you’ll be fine. Just make sure you can solder the speaker on

First of all, if everything goes well, it would be a good product. Except, the alAligning Bracket is garbage. Not well made to begin with, it doesn't reliably center the screen nor hold it in place well. I actually managed to break my screen trying to adjust it all. Trying to order a new bracket to try to start fresh with a new screen proved futile as the communication with HHL wasn't there, I offered to buy a new one, or at least the file to print my own. It's sad, really. I remember the old days of HHL. Whoever is in charge of the support isn't cut out for the job.

Perfect upgrade screen upgrade kit, comes with everything you need, I paired it with an IPS ready she'll and the only modification I had to do on the shell was to trim out the small lip next tot the contrast opening! Would highly recommend this kit!

The install video was very helpful to install this. I did have to cut a small bit off the frame that is right below the new contrast wheel. When I screwed it all back together the wheel wouldn't move as it was pressing against this nub. Not a hard thing to do, it just wasn't in the video.
I wish the speaker wires were the same gauge as the original. Trying to get that tiny wire soldered to the board was a bit tricky but I managed.
Overall it's a very nice screen and I love being able to play in any light condition now. Thank you!
