Our Story and Core Mission
Hand Held Legend (HHL) is the leading provider of retro gaming upgrades and replacement parts in the United States. Our business is focused on supplying gamers, hobbyists, and modders alike with the highest quality products focused on modernizing and restoring consoles from our childhood. We build consoles our 12-year-old selves would envy.
Our story began in 2013 with a folding table, soldering iron, and an idea to bring our beloved handhelds back to life. Since then we've been striving to serve communities across the globe with innovative products and incredible customer experience. HHL's core mission is to inspire everyone from novice to expert to restore or upgrade their gaming consoles to their fullest potential. We believe that we can impact the modding community and the modern gaming community in significant ways and share this love of gaming to new generations.
Our Vision
We aim to be the central marketplace for all retro and modern modding needs. We strive to empower vendors, both large and small, to succeed so that they can create the content that makes our community flourish. We want to be a place that unifies products and ideas in a way that makes modding what it should be - fun and hassle free.
We will consistently seek to have the most accurate product descriptions, competitive prices, and the opportunity for customer reviews in an effort to maintain full transparency. Providing a place that fosters community and collaboration with the products we stand by is very important to us. Our support team is always ready assist all matters, troubleshoot, and answer questions that may arise.
Ultimates
Our Ultimates bring us so much pride. The Ultimate is our fully modded handheld consoles, ready to go out of the box with today's best mods. We refurbish the original motherboards from Game Boy consoles and restore them to their former glory with a modern gaming experience. This is one of the many ways we bring Retro Gaming back to life.

Office
Since 2020, our offices and warehouse have grown significantly thanks to the increased interest in Retro Gaming. We love what we do and are glad you do too! Photos coming soon of our newly upgraded space!
