Game Boy DMG V5 Ultra IPS LCD Backlight Kit with OSD - Hispeedido

I know this won't get approved, I don't care. I'm sick of this IPS version crap. TEST your products before you sell them OR let us purchase upgrades like the bad board (I don't need a new screen but my IPS DMG is unplayable). I'm NOT getting fooled again. This crap has totally turned me off from Gameboy modding and yes it's companies pulling crap like this that did it.

-2 Star's for the wrong installation manual at the HHL Hommepage. The display in the manual is v2, the actual sold v3 version has another fixing concept and alingment of the display connector. broke this cable at the first try by following the instruction :-(

So I installed this mod and absolutely love the upgrade! Its clear, easy to use, great viewing angles and a variety of fun color modes you can switch on the fly. Install was pretty easy too but after putting it back together I could NOT use it as designed.

The red LED light for power included with this kit is extremely bright almost distractingly so. If you're playing it in the dark it's like a laser pointed right at you even with the screen dimmed. Led lights of the late 80s were much more muted and subtle so the original GB power light was never more than a dull indicator. This new board uses a new red LED and it is three times as bright as the original!

I tried some tint material to dim it, thought about adding a resistor but eventually i settled on just transplanting the original LED power light off of my original DMG screen board. I don't recommend this if you're a beginner with small electronics.

I'm hoping the HandHeldLegend team reads this and maybe puts a trim pot on the board for the power light on future builds. This could help some discomfort for some others like myself to dial it back a bit without doing some surgery.

Otherwise its a 10/10 product and its revived my DMG to be my favorite portable. I just don't like getting blasted with a red laser while I'm playing in the dark.

I have two game boys dmg.
One is dmg-cpu-07, the other is dmg-cpu-08.
Both are in working order.
The Game Boy DMG IPS LCD V3 set I bought from you does not work on dmg-cpu-08 there is sound, the power light is on but the display is off.
I rearrange this set to dmg-cpu-07 and everything works fine. Why don't they talk about it when buying? That the kit is not compatible with dmg-cpu-08

So i finally received my Game Boy DMG IPS LCD V3 with Front PCB - Unbranded. I open the box, excited to install my Gameboy DMG and first thing i see is the the black dial semi broken. I don't pay attention to it and continue my installation. I finally complete the installation and turn on the Game boy and it does not work, all i see is a black screen with sound and no image at all. Im so disappointed with Handheld Legend, because they should fully test all their products before shipping. Im not asking for my money back, all i need is a fully working Gameboy DMG kit which is what i paid for.
