The robot_retro GBA battery has charge and play functionality. Please note, if the USBC cable is removed from the GBA before the battery is sufficiently charged, the console will power cycle. Therefore, please either ensure the battery is fully charged or save your game before unplugging.

Compatible with all common IPS shells on the market. OEM shells will need to be trimmed to accommodate the battery.
A fully modded console with an IPS screen, amplifier, and flash cart will yield around 9.5-10 hours battery life.
Comes with a 1700mAh battery.
Fully charges from dead in about 5 to 6 hours. This module was intentionally made to charge slower than others to reduce heat and keep it at a minimum.
The yellow LED (CHRG) lights up when charging. The green LED (FULL) lights up when charging is complete.
Uses a negative polarity 10x30x48mm battery with a JST-ZH connector.
USB-C battery covers and charging cables sold separately.
For non-IPS and original shells battery housing modification is required. USB-C battery cover hole will need to be cut out.
For IPS ready shells, battery housing modification is not required. USB-C Battery cover hole will need to be cut.
V2 boards are now compatible with all USB-C battery covers.

Install: Remove the GBA left hand side battery spring (optional) and place the battery in the battery housing. Place the battery in left side first then push down the right side so the springs are in contact with the GBA battery springs.

the usb-c charger is 10/10

My last battery blew out (not from here) and this one prevents overcharging/heating that caused that. It takes a while to charge to full but worth it not breaking and it lasts FOREVER. I am actually happy the old one died. because this is way better. Easy to install as well. hhl has great prices and selection too.

Best Deal and Mod for Battery Needs

Ultimately, this is currently the most affordable of the drop-in and play rechargeable battery mods for the Game Boy Advance. This is the 2nd one of these I have purchased, and if you are playing on system with any upgrade mods such as an IPS or TFT LCD screen, TV out, or color LEDs, these will both extend your play time and reduce the frequency of the battery power bottoming out, shutting off your system mid-play (which was happening to me on occasion in a console that includes a TFT LCD and a pair of shoulder button LEDs). Dropped this in, booted it up, and enjoyed uninterrupted play with continuous power draw from the battery mod. Great stuff.

Robot_Retro USB C battery mod

I’ve installed several of these in my modded GBA’s and haven’t had any issues. Battery doesn’t pop out and is a slick addition to the unit. Typical charge is lasting me about 4 hrs of continuous gameplay. Excellent alternative to AA batteries

Great Battery pack for the price. Very stable battery life. Only qualms are to slight trim the highspeedido shells to fit it in snuggly.

Affordablei decent option for power

If the unit came with clear instructions such as you would have to do some Dremel and sniff work on the inside of your battery compartment to accommodate the battery and the board I would give it a five-star rating. Seems to be made of decent quality material we'll see how long it holds up
