An easy to use kit to upgrade your Game Boy Color. This "Cloud" version is yet another type of IPS backlight you can buy for your Game Boy.

FEATURES:

Display is transflective, meaning it works wonderfully in direct light!
No shell modification required for regular GBC Shells

Brightness adjustment without soldering wires
Double sided foam adhesive is not required and is meant to help center LCD if not using spacers.
We recommend using the included 'TFT brackets' instead of the 'acrylic spacer'.

NOTES:

The display area on the LCD is slightly smaller than the original so a TFT lens must be used to mask properly.
This LCD no longer has a protective film on it. Do not attempt to peal anything off the LCD as this results in removing the polarizer.
After installation, if it is noted that your touch sensor is overly sensitive or is cycling, please see this article for assistance.
The touch sensor can be placed near the top of the console. It is located on the opposite side (side further from the IR senor) when compared to the Hispeedido TFT GBC kit.

WARNINGS:

Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return.
LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.
Damage to console or LCD may occur if you do not trim the cartridge port pins. Exercise caution when trimming pins, wear eye protection to protect from pin debris when cutting the metal. Damage caused by these pins are not covered under our return or exchange policy. Trim the pins of your Gameboy's cartridge slot flat so that they don't interfere with any parts of the kit. We also recommend placing some Kapton tape over the trimmed pins to prevent any shorts.

Installation was easy!

Installation was super easy- took literally minutes to put in. No modifications needed although I was surprised by the location on the touch sensor- it seems in the latest version it has been moved from the top right to the top left of the case to avoid covering the infrared sensor. The touch sensor seems to work through the case. Truly incredible design.

Beautiful screen, garbage company to order it from.

This is my second big order from HHL, and my last. Both times pieces have been missing that should have been checked for during QC and then checked for again while my order was shipped out. These orders were a year apart, and I guarantee that if I'm 2 for 2, it can't be terribly uncommon. While most of what they sell is pretty okay or even good, I can only recommend getting it elsewhere from a more consistent seller.

Great alternative to IPS display

Upgrading your GBC screen is a must-have mod, the question is: do you want TFT or IPS? For me the TFT was the way to go as it's slightly smaller allowing me room in the front-center of the case for another mod I'm doing.

The screen is beautiful, and the variable brightness is a fantastic touch.

The only place I'm docking this a star is that I wish it fit perfectly behind a stock lens and didn't require a specific TFT lens (as this display is slightly smaller than the stock one). I would also have liked it if this was an all-in-one unit without requiring your own folding of ribbon cables, insulating of the back of the screen and so on. If it was plug-and-play it would be perfect. Admittedly this is a very minor point - we're already taking apart a gameboy, the extra steps of plugging a few things in together and taping them down isn't much of an inconvenience, just a minor opportunity for improvement.

Advice for HHL: including a small slip of paper with a QR code link to your youtube video installing this would be a nice touch!

Great replacement screen

Awesome replacement screen! Really happy with the way it turned out. I love the depth the screen still has. Most laminated IPS displays don't have the same viewing angle as the original screens. Glad that this display keeps the depth of the viewing angle!

Good but missing all but one screen centering bracket.

Got 2 kits and both only came with one screen centering bracket each. Other than that, the kits install with ease and work well.

Did not include the TFT brackets

My kit did not include the TFT brackets.. has anyone else had this issue?

Am i still able to install without them?
