7/11/23 - We have noted that our new batch of batteries has a fitment issue due to height clearance. This can cause the battery cover to not sit flush with the shell. The supplier suggests pressing the battery with mild pressure to reduce height. Returns/Refunds are not accepted for this product. Please see product photos for example of the fitment issue you may experience.

It's too big. (That's what she said.)

This battery is top notch long lasting AND it fits my GBA SP just fine. BUT, mine is a 3rd party shell, so just out of curiosity, I tried this on my OEM AG-100 with the OEM Nintendo factory shell. Sure enough, it doesn't fit. I wouldn't even call it a tight fit because it just plain doesn't fit at all.

So here's my recommendation for those on the fence due to the not quite, will it fit or won't it fit, stance.

If you have a 3rd party shell, get it. If you have an original Nintendo shell, don't.

Not 900mAh

Battery was not 900mAh. Was tested at 710mAh which is way out of margin of error of what it is advertised at. A bit disappointed but at least it is better than the ones you find on Amazon that all test for around 300mAh... Save your money and just go with a mahko battery.

"tight fit"

If you want to purchase this really read the "tight fit" carefully. It is not a tight fit, if you but the battery in the batter cover will be bulging out. So "tight fit" is a loooooooong streetch. It is more like it barely fits, and will most likely cause damage to your shell over time. I did not even submit a customer support request because of the "no refunds". So I would recommend not buying this. its a complete waste of money.

Doesn’t fit in an original shell

I tried 3 different GBA SP-101s and it would not fit.
The one I put a little extra effort into making it fir actually cracked the original shell….

Misleading description doesn’t fit

DO NOT BUY. This battery does NOT fit in the Gameboy Advance SP console. It is too big and results in warping of battery cover. I reached out to customer support and they told me that is normal and they would not rectify the problem. Buyer beware. I would avoid this product and this website altogether. Sketchy.

We have a warning at the top of the product page letting customers know that there is a fitment issue which is why support did not honor any refunds - we state to purchase at your own risk. With aftermarket SP batteries, there are often fitment issues due to the fact that the original SP battery is a tight fit within the shell intentionally - the SP batteries are not designed to be removed for years upon initial insertion. Most aftermarket batteries with fit issues can be gently pressed between your fingers to help reduce the height and safely secure the battery cover. The shell being used with the battery may also cause fitment to vary.
