This feels like a scam

I honestly don't know what this charge does, other than I don't think I can get rid of it. It's just an extra $1 fee tacked on to every order and then they send me an email to download a sketchy app to get a tracking code....that eventually gets sent to you anyways.

Please note the following
- Route Protection is ON by default with all of our orders, with the option to remove it at checkout.
- We do not make profit on Route Protection.
- Without Route protection, lost or stolen packages are not covered. This is to protect the customer from losses as once a package leaves our shipping warehouse, it is completely out of our control.

Delivered to the wrong address

Thanks for your feedback! Please check your order confirmation to make sure you entered in the correct address. If you did, most likely the shipping company made an error as we do not change/alter shipping addresses unless requested by the customer. I love the finished product but i did have an issue

The controller looks and feels great, only issue i had was the bottom right **** was not screwed in all the way, and i had pulled off the cover, thankfully i did not lose the ****. I guess in a way that shows its hand made ;)

I have to get the screwdriver for it, but other than that great controller!

its HHLs responsibility to get my order to me safely. offsetting the cost with this is a legit scam.

Thanks for your feedback! Many small companies like us, will use a shipping insurance to ensure both the customer and business are covered in the event of a damaged/lost/etc package. This ensures we may stay in business, have the ability to continue to provide a vast selection of products, and that you will receive your items regardless of if there is an issue or not.

Fee based "optional" services should never be enabled by default.

Route is a sketchy company offering sketchy "insurance" for product shipping. It is a cheap CYA solution offered by companies, so they don't have to deal with shipping/delivery customer issues.
If companies want to offer it as an optional service that's fine. People can then choose to optionally use it or not. But making that "optional" service enabled by default with an accompanying service charge is inexcusable.
And despite their customer service claims, it is in Handheld Legends best interest that you pay for that service because it removes their liability for any shipping related issues. Route assumes that liability for the service fee.
Handheld Legend, if you really cared about customers and customer service then you would offer this service but not enable it by default. It is a shame really because as a company you offer some great products.

Thanks for your feedback! Route has been a very reliable resource for us and our customers. While it might seem 'sketchy', they are generally very helpful in replacing/refunding products and orders when they meet their guidelines, which are very reasonable. Many small companies like us, will use a shipping insurance to ensure both the customer and business are covered in the event of a damaged/lost/etc package. It is turned on by default because customers may not realize it is an option to use. It is very simple to just remove it from your cart if you do not wish to use the service.
