The Game Boy DMG has evolved yet again to include more on screen controls for modern IPS LCDs.

- 11% larger display than the original.
- Some minor shells modifications may be required depending on your shell.
- Vertical and horizontal display adjustment with on screen controls (OSD).
- RGB capability, choose from 8 different colors with a press of a button (contrast wheel).
- OSD menu has Color Adjust option for RGB color balance.
- Brightness adjustment replaces contrast wheel.
- OSD menu has Pixilation mode (retro pixel) option.
- OSD menu has Battery indicator on screen option.

NOTES:
- This kit has a Q5 LCD that is 11% larger than the original. A Q5 lens will be necessary to have the proper viewing window. This kit currently includes a Gray Q5 lens. If you want a different variant, you will have to purchase that separately.
To use brightness, color, and OSD menu on contrast wheel:
- Cycle normally for brightness.
- Short press (one to two seconds) to cycle for color modes.
- Long press (five seconds) to enter OSD.
WARNINGS:
- Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return.
- LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.

Modifying a product in any way, including but not limited to removing or adding components, will result in the voiding of our return/refund policy.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Defective or damaged parts are free to return within 30 days of purchase. Shipping costs are not covered for items returned at a customer's request or the refusal of the troubleshooting process with our support. Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.
Please note that international orders are not eligible for a prepaid shipping label for returns on defective products. Returns must be paid for by the customer.

We reserve the right to deduct an amount proportional to the chosen shipping return method from your refund if you order does not quality for a free return:

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, within 1-7 business days.

LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS (IF APPLICABLE)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account. Then contact your bank or credit card company. It may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

You may cancel or edit orders yourself (before fulfillment) by following the steps in this guide. If you edit/cancel your order, you can expect a refund within 1 to 7 business days. Orders that have been fulfilled by our shipping team cannot have edits made or be canceled. We will do our best to assist customers in this process if needed, but it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their order and shipping information is correct before processing the order. The display is great. I love the option to add pixelation for an old time feel. I have had some difficulty with getting the contrast wheel to fit properly in a regular shell. The display itself is fairly easy to install and looks great.
This Screen Is One Of The Best Products I Have Purchased. This Is The Fourth Hispeedo Screen I Have Purchased And It Is Very Cool. The Brightness On The Game Boy LCD Backlit Screen Can Be Adjusted Similar To The Original Game Boy"s Contrast. I Am Very Pleased With The Product.
Mod looks great, however, button responsiveness is not good. You have to really push down to register presses, especially the dpad. I have a complete nintendo handheld collection and other modded devices, retro handhelds like the miyoo mini, analogue pocket, and it is the only one that is actually bad.
Thanks for your review! You can try cleaning your membranes (especially if they are original) and the button contacts on the front PCB/board with 97% or higher IPA to ensure there is no dust or debris getting in the way of registering a full press. Depending on the membranes being used, this could be part of the issue as well. If available, you can try testing with another set. If the issue persists, feel free to reach out to support to troubleshoot further.

The installation of the GAME BOY DMG IPS LCD V4 Q5 OSD & FRONT PCB KIT - HISPEEDIDO was very simple and for the most part painless. My 10 yr old daughter and I assembled it pretty quickly. We did have an issue with the screen flashing on and off which was resolved with some extra cleaning with alcohol On the ribbon cables. We used a modified shell by Funnyplaying also sold by Handheld Legend. One bit of advice is make sure not to tighten the screws to tight on the shell by the screen adjustment wheel. If to tight the wheel gets stuck.
