Developed under the name "Project Mercury", the Game Gear was the primary competition to the Game Boy, the Atari Lynx and the TurboExpress.
It shared much of its hardware with the Master System, and can play Master System games by use of an adapter. Sega positioned the Game Gear, which had a full-color backlit screen with a landscape format, as a technologically superior handheld to the Game Boy.
The Game Gear was notorious for bad capacitors, which means almost no Game Gears exist in the wild that work without repair.
This kit comes with all the capacitors needed to fix EVERY VERSION of your Game Gear:
Soldering skills required, small components may be difficult for beginners. Simply remove all old aluminium capacitors from the board, and install the same value capacitors in their place.

Replace all 10uF and 4.7uF capacitors with 10uF surface mount capacitors.
NOTE: This kit now comes with 1000uF instead of 820uF.

I recapped two game gears with this kit and everything works phenomenally. It's great to have my childhood game gear in working order again. Both were va1 boards and didn't notice any sound issues vs an electrolytic recapped soundboard.
The kit was nice but it was really dumb that you wouldn’t help me out. In purchasing just the specific capacitors I needed cause I already purchase some beforehand and I needed two kits of caps so it wasn’t just 1 order.
