Add this 3.0" Laminated IPS Kit M2 for GBA SP to your Game Boy Advance SP to make your play more enjoyable with a modern display, featuring enhanced brightness, color and clarity!

How to test your LCD kit
Install Guide - *FunnyPlaying did not include the bracket needed to help install this kit into their Mirror Clear ITA/IPS modified shells. If you are using the FunnyPlaying Mirror Clear shell, you can use these brackets instead.

NOTES:

To use the brightness button for OSD menu:

Long hold (3 to 5 seconds) the brightness button to open the OSD
Press the button once to change the currently highlighted option
Long hold the brightness button again to switch highlighted options
To close the OSD simply don't press the brightness button for 5 seconds

To use the touch sensor for OSD menu and brightness:

Short press (one to two seconds) adjusts brightness levels without entering OSD menu. Long press (3 to 5 seconds) will open OSD menu.
Long press again to change menu selection.
Tap/short press to adjust selection in menu.
To close the OSD simply don't press/tap the sensor for 5 seconds.

WARNINGS:

You do not need to purchase a separate lens. Removing pre-adhered lens from LCD can result in damage to the LCD and will void product warranty. If you received an extra lens in your order, this was likely a included plastic lens with a shell and should NOT be placed on top of the pre-adhered lens.
Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return.
LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.

Received faulty screen and had to pay for replacement

Let me start this off with I think handheld legends has good customer support. They replied to my emails in a fast manner. The issue that I had was I was shipped a faulty product that handheld legends would not replace for free because they claimed I had installed it when I had not. In my case the screen had lines on the right side. From my expertise I knew that this was a fall in the screen so when I emailed handheld legends they defaulted to say that I installed the screen when I did not. They shipped me a new screen that I had to pay for and charged me half price. I should not have been charged any money because I was shipped a faulty product that had no correlation with being installed. This transaction shows me how handheld legends wants to treat customers who get faulty products. They would rather put the fault on the customer than themselves. Make sure you know this when you order any modification products and know ahead of time that handheld legends well blame you more than they will blame themselves.

Thank you for your review. We have certain policies in place to help rule out either defective products or user error. It looks like from your discussion with support, we let you know that the way you had already 'installed' your kit voided the policy. We gave you the resource that shows how to properly test out an SP kit (not sitting in the front shell, ribbon has not been threaded through the shell, etc) so it will qualify for replacements in the future. The half off was given as a courtesy since mistakes do happen in regards to testing and what that means. We hope that the replacement works flawlessly and you will enjoy gaming on your SP!

Absolutely Stunning Screen

This screen is gorgeous. Absolutely pixel perfect. The color tone is just very slightly warm, which is really nice because it's easier on the eyes.

Like the description says, some shell modifications are required. I'd suggest getting a shell along with this so you don't tear up your original shell. The display comes pre-adhesed to a glass lens and was already perfectly centered. The brightness controller is very nice and is 10 stages. The soldering is very easy if you've soldered before and this has the wire you need included. Difference in battery life so far has been negligible. Also this screen works for both 001 and 101 models so you don't have to worry about compatibility.

Overall, I highly recommend this screen and cannot emphasize enough how beautiful this display looks. 10/10

Very nice display, PCB not connected like in the pictures

Very nice display, I like the fact that there is a display mode to keep a retro touch (with slight scanline effect) with nice colors.
I was just surprised that the PCB wasn't attached like on the pictures on the side of the screen, but rather on the bottom. The link for the installation tutorial show the right version. There are also some more osd options than on the description here.

Crooked Screen

Don’t know how to say this other than the lens and screen are crooked along with the lettering. Minimal from a distance but since this is a hand held game and the view clearly shows it’s not aligned properly, thus making it very very annoying.

Reinstalled the screen 4 times within the housing thinking it was me, literally made the install 4 times as long. Going as far in saying it’s a deal breaker if there is no quality control.

I don't like the finish of the frame

the letters on the frame of the screen are not like the original ones, for me it is an important detail since it does not look like a standard screen in order to preserve the original spirit of the game boy advance Sp
