  • The CleanAmp replaces the original audio amplifier of the Game Gear with a modern smooth and crazy loud class D amplifier.
  • Experience the sounds of the old school games like you will of never heard them before, in clear, responsive detail.
  • No soldering required. Wire-free install. Simply unscrew the old amp from the shell and place the CleanAmp in it's place.
  • Provides a clean, stable and efficient output with clear, responsive and very loud audio. The sound is well over 300% louder than the original, can be heard 20 meters away.

NOTES:

  • Currently not compatible with OEM speaker.
  • We have become aware of a small incompatibility with ports on certain versions of the Game Gear. If you find that you are having fit issues, this is resolved by slight modifications. Cut the white border off from the CleanAmp that is stopping it from fitting. Then push green connector down half way. Any direction is safe to try as no harm comes from that but we believe it's should be oriented the way with 2 tabs facing down. If you have questions regarding any of this, please message support.

Clean amp is amazing

This paired with the new speaker really sounds great on my game gear. Sound is night and day compared to original and it gets super loud. Amazing sound! Retrosix is a great company.

Amazing sound upgrade

This is a must! No hiss, hum, squel, or anything of the kind. It's a super easy drop-in mod so even those scared of soldering can do it! Paired with the new speaker the Game Gear is super loud and crisp. Before the sound was barely audible at full volume even with a full recap.

Super sound!

After installing the cleanscreen mod i noticed there was a little hiss in my sound … not sure why … but i tried the clean amp and not only was the hiss gone but the sound was waaaaay louder and clearer.

Nice loud and crisp sound. Using a new speaker. And even if you don't want loud, it still a great replacement for faulty sound PCBs.
