GBA SP Stock Shell Clarificafion

I bought this battery and a normal sized battery off Amazon to compare. This battery is noticeably heavier than the stock and aftermarket “standard batteries”. As it said all over the page, this fits in standard shells with a little extra bulge in the battery door. If I was ordering again, I would consider ordering a backup door to shave down to not modify the existing shell. If you’re ok with some uneven seams at the bottom around the door for a few hours extra battery, it’s worth it! Definitely a quality battery

Misleading description doesn’t fit

DO NOT BUY. This battery does NOT fit in the Gameboy Advance SP console. It is too big and results in warping of battery cover. I reached out to customer support and they told me that is normal and they would not rectify the problem. Buyer beware. I would avoid this product and this website altogether. Sketchy.

We have a warning at the top of the product page letting customers know that there is a fitment issue which is why support did not honor any refunds - we state to purchase at your own risk. With aftermarket SP batteries, there are often fitment issues due to the fact that the original SP battery is a tight fit within the shell intentionally - the SP batteries are not designed to be removed for years upon initial insertion. Most aftermarket batteries with fit issues can be gently pressed between your fingers to help reduce the height and safely secure the battery cover. The shell being used with the battery may also cause fitment to vary.

900mha battery for GBA sp

First off, the battery lasts so, so much longer than the battery that came with my sp when I bought it used. It was an original Nintendo and I could get maybe 2-3 hours max while using an ips screen on 5-6 brightness (out of 12 I believe) but with this new battery, I can play my whole 12 hour shift at work (off and on for 6-8 hours) and still come home in the morning and continue playing before I go to bed. It lasts so long!

The only issue I have, which is what others have said, is it doesn't fit perfectly. The battery went in with no problem, and closed up just fine, and then I felt the lip while I played and was like..hmmm.. tried tightening the **** a bit more, but it's still raised enough to be a mild annoyance, but certainly not a deal breaker. It's raised just about 1-2mm, so really not that much at all, but I like this perfect and this knocks my SP down to a 98/100 lol I bought two for both SP's which are using AliExpress replacement shells, so perhaps these will fit a stock Nintendo shell better, but for both brands of third party shells, the battery fits the same. Would I buy these again? Absolutely. If I found the same capacity battery, but if it fit...well then I'd buy those and not these. The price was right, and I can keep searching if it bothers me THAT much, which I may do, but these will work for the time being, and honestly probably for a while. My only other recommendation would be to throw a mini Handheld Legends sticker on the battery so that it shows something cooler than just 'battery pack' for those of us who use transparent shells

Thanks for your review! You may be able to help with the fitment issue by pressing the battery with mild pressure to reduce height. The difference may be very minimal but every mm counts when fitting aftermarket SP batteries since the fit is meant to be tight.

When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return. If a backlight/LCD is returned and shows any signs of having been installed, it will not be eligible for a refund.

Requested returns/refunds/exchanges for items you believe to be defective, will be subject to a troubleshooting process with our support team before proceeding with a return/replacement/refund.

Modifying a product in any way, including but not limited to removing or adding components, will result in the voiding of our return/refund policy.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Defective or damaged parts are free to return within 30 days of purchase. Shipping costs are not covered for items returned at a customer's request or the refusal of the troubleshooting process with our support. Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.

You may cancel or edit orders yourself (before fulfillment) by following the steps in this guide. If you edit/cancel your order, you can expect a refund within 1 to 7 business days. Orders that have been fulfilled by our shipping team cannot have edits made or be canceled. We will do our best to assist customers in this process if needed, but it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their order and shipping information is correct before processing the order.
