I think the size spec is wildly low tolerance, mine doesnt fit between the capacitors and the power pins. Also whatever the pads are made of, solder does NOT like sticking to them. Ended up just not installing it and dealing with the mild hum.

Works well enough

No issues soldering it down and it did clear up some hiss and hum I was expecting a bit more clear but it seems to function as advertised.

Fitting issue

Didn’t want to lay flat was a little difficult to installl because of that

Be careful, Proceed with Caution, Beware etc etc.

I learned this the hard way with my GBA dehum kit and accidently desoldered a capacitor by letting the soldering iron touch for too long (like a second) This time with the GBASP everything went fine. The GBASP turns on, there is sound, it removes most but not all the unwanted noise. Can't complain really.

Don't ignore the warnings!

I've purchased this item this item twice in the past and the first two I had no issue with. Doing side by side comparisons between SPs, one with and one without the kit, I do think there is a slight improvement in audio clarity. However this third time was not the case.

After a very simple and routine install, I preformed a dry test with power to check the audio and suddenly my SP would not power on. Sure enough it blew my F1 fuse. So after talking with support and being assured this kit would not cause a second fault and that there was no error on my part, I ordering the fuse, waiting a week for it to arrive, swapped out the old fuse, powered it on... and it blew again!

With these (normally 10 cent) fuses being sold for $2 each, plus an $8 shipping cost, this kit is going to cost me over $20 and multiple weeks of waiting, just to repair the damage it caused. On top of all that I am absolutely going to desolder this kit, so there's an additional waste of $13 plus the $8 shipping.

Final thoughts, is slightly clearer audio worth the gamble of wasting $40+ dollars and multiple weeks of waiting and frustrating?

Thanks for your feedback! This can happen on SP's with the addition of power hungry modern mods. It is uncommon though for a fuse to blow twice but it is possible. If you haven't already, please reach out to support again regarding the issue. We would be happy to send you replacement fuses since this is the second one that has blown.

When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return. If a backlight/LCD is returned and shows any signs of having been installed, it will not be eligible for a refund.

Requested returns/refunds/exchanges for items you believe to be defective, will be subject to a troubleshooting process with our support team before proceeding with a return/replacement/refund.

Modifying a product in any way, including but not limited to removing or adding components, will result in the voiding of our return/refund policy.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Defective or damaged parts are free to return within 30 days of purchase. Shipping costs are not covered for items returned at a customer's request or the refusal of the troubleshooting process with our support. Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.

CANCEL/EDIT ORDERS

You may cancel or edit orders yourself (before fulfillment) by following the steps in this guide. If you edit/cancel your order, you can expect a refund within 1 to 7 business days. Orders that have been fulfilled by our shipping team cannot have edits made or be canceled.
