Crisp and clear sound

This makes the sound really loud, but also crisp and clear even with the original speaker. I installed a new 680UF cap and that probably helped along with the CleanPower regulator. Learning from my DMG that the old caps and regulator can't handle new mods I went ahead and changed these out. No cut-outs, no boot loops, no screen dimming. Super easy install and even works underneath the RetroGlow board.

Easy to install, sleek design, and works well adding some punch to the audio.

Literally fell apart

Don’t know what happened. Went to solder first point and the pad came off before I could even finish applying solder. Just a bad experience. Maybe just a fluke, I don’t know.

Thanks for your feedback! We are sorry to hear of the issue. This can happen from a soldering iron not being set to a good temperature. A good starting point for most modding projects is around 365c. Make sure to use plenty of flux. If the component or joint you are trying to heat does not turn molten within 1 second of iron contact, evaluate the situation carefully. Clean amp pro for the win!

This is a great little amp for the Gameboy color! I put new capacitors and a new funnyplaying speaker into my gameboy along with this amplifier from retro6, what a difference! Its not scratchy sounding at all which was a concern of mine when turning the volume up and down which is fantastic. I think between the caps, the new speaker and a blast of crc contact cleaner into the volume wheel the only thing left to do for the console/audio circuit is to replace the voltage regulator. I noticed the console will power down if the volume is turned up too high. I think the stock regulator is struggling to provide enough current for the modifications I have installed. I went ahead and ordered one from you guys already and look forward to getting that installed! Bottom line, its leagues ahead of the stock amp, and depending on your modifications you may need a new power regulator to keep it up. Thanks handheld legend!
