Dreamcast GDEmu V5.20.5

This has truly been an awesome purchase! The GDEMU is a must have replacement for the old GD-ROM drive on the SEGA dreamcast. Installing the GDEMU was easy and straightforward, and loading games onto an SD card was simple. I was initially skeptical, but I've found that I enjoy my old Dreamcast even more now than I did when I was a kid. If you own a Dreamcast, I highly recommend considering this upgrade. I had been wanting to do a GDEmu board modification since I started looking at the Sega Dreamcast 5 years ago. I figured it'd be daunting but it actually isn't all that difficult to do. Now I bought this paired with a mount kit and there are some complaints I have with the mount kit itself including the ribbon cable paired with it. But this mod chip is amazing, please do your research on the appropriate mount kit and software you wish to install on the drive. Some files don't load properly and cause the system to either reboot and give an "please insert disc" prompt or completely black out. This isn't a huge problem because you can turn the console off and on again and it'll boot up like normal. The other issue is when browsing the games on the gdmenu board only some software causes it to completely black out. These are only flaws on the software and not the board I believe, because it has happened on Daytona USA for example but not on a different version of Daytona USA. The board doesn't have any built in save states that I have noticed so I recommend keeping some VMUs on hand or look for something like a ssd mod if those exist. The best part of the mod is that it isn't difficult at all and you'll even notice the console is much quieter after installation which in my opinion is stunning. I love this thing and am so glad I finally got one.
