To use OSD controls:
- Hold Start + 2 + Left to get into the menu.
- Left and 2 move the menu left and right.
- Start goes in and out of menu.

I've bought about a dozen of these from Handheld Legend and weather you install them into an original Game Gear or put them on a new SYF Mainboard, they are easy to install, look fantastic. They are brighter then the BennVenn and fit the screen better right out of the box, I would highly recommend this.
The entire kit is easy enough to install. This review is or the 3.1.2 version. The board screws in with no issues. The ribbon cables are very fiddly and don't 100% line up. You might have just the slightest bend/hump on them, but it doesn't interfere with anything. There are a lot of solder points on this mod. More so than other CleanScreen mods, and it requires removing things off the board.
This is not for beginners. You need to be able to solder around tiny SMD resistors and pads that are the size of pinholes. If that isn't an issue then then you should be fine. You will also need some wire to hook up to the Hsync and Vsync which the store page does not tell you. This needs to be cut and trimmed so you may also need some wire strippers.
I personally love having the test switches on the board so I can see if everything works before closing it all up. It's wonderfully engineered. You get what you pay for. That's the best aftermarket screen mod on the market today.
I ordered a clean screen. Well I got one not programmed. After I installed it and then I was trying to troubleshoot it when I went to discord. Here u guys had to know your boards were not programmed. The guy from retrosix said u got bad boards and u keep selling them. From what it looked like nobody wanted to do there job. You had bad boards for weeks. A good company would have saw that there was a problem and took it off your website. I was doing this job for someone and they paid extra to get the parts quicker. With your mess up, I have to pay money out of my pocket now. This is why people don’t trust half the websites out there. You lost my business. I’ll order from retrosix directly.

We trust the suppliers to perform their own tests and ensure their product works accordingly before we receive them, so we had no way of knowing until R6 informed us. Initially bought for one game gear that went bad and had multiple issues. Fixed a number of issues, but it still had issues after installing clean screen (no fault of the clean screen), so i had a good working but stock game gear that i installed the clean screen into. Looks and works great. Nice product
This is an excellent upgrade with a plethora of added features, it does however require a fair amount of skill to install correctly. I highly recommend the accompanying flex kits for the easiest (but certainly not "easy") installation. If you don't have fine soldering skills, find someone who does, as although this isn't the hardest installation, it certainly ranks in the top three. It is also important to know which motherboard revision you have prior to ordering the flex kit.
Just as the title says. This mod was so easy I’m actually impressed. I was ready for a good amount of time doing this, I think I spent more time setting up my area than I did installing this. The wireless ribbons is what made this mod so trivial. Along with not having to solder to pins which is always the make or break point of modding a Game Gear. Highly recommend.

Purchases are eligible for return within 30 days of purchase. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return. If a backlight/LCD is returned and shows any signs of having been installed, it will not be eligible for a refund.
Requested returns/refunds/exchanges for items you believe to be defective, will be subject to a troubleshooting process with our support team before proceeding with a return/replacement/refund.
Modifying a product in any way, including but not limited to removing or adding components, will result in the voiding of our return/refund policy.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Defective or damaged parts are free to return within 30 days of purchase. Shipping costs are not covered for items returned at a customer's request or the refusal of the troubleshooting process with our support. Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.
Please note that international orders are not eligible for a prepaid shipping label for returns on defective products. Returns must be paid for by the customer.

You may cancel or edit orders yourself (before fulfillment) by following the steps in this guide. If you edit/cancel your order, you can expect a refund within 1 to 7 business days.
