Designed and tested in the UK by a reputable modder and builder, the RetroSix/Hand Held Legend CleanJuice XL for Game Boy DMG is the ultimate upgrade to your console. Adds 11.1 watts of power (compared to 2 watt for the largest AA batteries available) giving you almost 6 times the game time!
FEATURES:
- Charge at any time using a regular USB C cable, and even reverse charge the console from your phone if it supports power share. That means you can charge your GB while you are out, using your phone battery.
- Connect battery to CleanJuice board (only fits in one way)
- If your shell is a RetroSix IPS modified shell, no need to do anything. If it's regular shell, you will need to trim the 3 battery line stumps at the bottom of the battery compartment where the AA batteries usually go so that its flat.
- Place battery into shell with the wire coming out at the bottom left corner, and the battery pushing the top left spring in.
- Push the battery down at the bottom end.
- Place the CleanJuice board on top of battery and push the springs down to make contact with top battery springs. The other 3 shell battery springs need to be removed.
- Pair with a USB-C battery cover for the DMG (sold separately)
- You can also cut a hole for the USB-C port using a 4mm drill bit and drill 3 holes in the center of the battery cover as shown in the image.
- Put the back cover on the console, and you are ready to go.

- Port on CleanJuice modules will rest at opening of battery cover. This means you do not insert the port into the opening but it sits flush with the cover.

Light Indicator Key:
- If the PG labeled light on the board is on, this means the USB cable is providing power to the system. This also means you can power your console from the USB without draining the battery - plug and play option.
- If the CHRG labeled light on the board is on, this means the USB is charging the battery. When it goes off, the battery is fully charged.
- Both indicator lights will be on when module is charging. When module is fully charged, only the PG light will remain.
- If you connect a USB cable and the PG light does not turn on, your cable or power supply are faulty.

Purchases are eligible for return within 30 days of purchase. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return. If a backlight/LCD is returned and shows any signs of having been installed, it will not be eligible for a refund.
Requested returns/refunds/exchanges for items you believe to be defective, will be subject to a troubleshooting process with our support team before proceeding with a return/replacement/refund.
Modifying a product in any way, including but not limited to removing or adding components, will result in the voiding of our return/refund policy.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Defective or damaged parts are free to return within 30 days of purchase. Shipping costs are not covered for items returned at a customer's request or the refusal of the troubleshooting process with our support. Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.
Please note that international orders are not eligible for a prepaid shipping label for returns on defective products. Returns must be paid for by the customer.

We reserve the right to deduct an amount proportional to the chosen shipping return method from your refund if you order does not quality for a free return:

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, within 1-7 business days.
Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.

You may cancel or edit orders yourself (before fulfillment) by following the steps in this guide. If you edit/cancel your order, you can expect a refund within 1 to 7 business days. Probably not a fault of HHL and likely an issue with shipping, but one of the contacts that connects to the battery terminals was entirely off and loose in the bag. I soldered it back on, though, and it works perfectly.
I've gotten one of these before for my other gameboy, which came in fine and still works 100% to this day, so I won't mark points for it! Great stuff.
Clean juice xl for DMG is awesome. Had to shave the inside rod the extra door a bit, but, it looks and works phenomenal!
Had been waiting months for this, and when I got it, put it on the charger overnight. Woke up and it shows it's still charging after 8 hours. Installed the setup, and my Gameboy battery monitor shows it's only 25% charged. Pretty disappointed considering the price of the product.
Also, don't bother looking at the "item specifications link" for any info because it's a broken link.

I love this thing. Totally worth the money. The drop-in style could not be easier. I use my GB way more than I used to simply because I'm not having to worry about buying AA's. And I can play for days before I have to recharge. I love it so much.
My only complaint is the + contact. Sometimes I have to pull the battery out, bend the contact out a bit and reinstall it. I only have to do that occasionally when the GB won't turn on at all. But that fixes it every time and is very easy to do. It just makes me nervous about it's longevity. Maybe I'll get it fit in someday in a way that I won't need to fiddle with it any more.
Other than that. This mod is really a 5-star item.
Expanded and leaked after just two years. Now regret doing this mod.
