There are no longer the two large capacitors on the bottom left of the board.

To use OSD controls:

Hold Start + 2 + Left to get into the menu.
Left and 2 move the menu left and right.
Start goes in and out of menu.

WARNINGS:

LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.
Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. However, soldering is required to test the CleanScreen Game Gear mod. You may solder any wires necessary to test for basic functionality of the CleanScreen. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed fully in shells are not eligible for replacement or return.

Installs great but has issues

Install is much cleaner than the V1 board, IPS panel looks great with it, major issues being the incompatibility with SMS games and certain GG games when using an everdrive. You will be forced to modifiy your everdrive if you want this board to work completely, or modify the cleanscreen board and open up a potential for frying the GG ASIC. If you're happy with your V1 board I would stick with it until this issue is resolved with a proper board revision instead of a mostly untested, hacky, circuit.

Easiest Game Gear Install I have ever done

This was an extremely easy install I strongly recommend picking up the wire free ribbons. I have done many Sega Game Gears and would guess it takes about an hour to do the old way of soldering wires every where, maybe 45 minutes no issue. First time doing this kit and it took me literally 15 minutes. Extremely impressed!

No trouble with the Clean Screen itself

Though it does need to come with the newest flex cables. I had the flex cables that say they fit v2/3 and RetroSix has made a change to the newest board that doesn't fit the V2 cables anymore. You'll see the Ribbon B (on the right) is a longer ribbon slot than the previous iteration. Please make sure you've got the right flex cable. I think RetroSix is only selling them as kits, which is ideal.

Awesome

Excellent option for a modern Game Gear

I've bought about a dozen of these from Handheld Legend and weather you install them into an original Game Gear or put them on a new SYF Mainboard, they are easy to install, look fantastic. They are brighter then the BennVenn and fit the screen better right out of the box, I would highly recommend this.

Fantastic display

The entire kit is easy enough to install. This review is or the 3.1.2 version. The board screws in with no issues. The ribbon cables are very fiddly and don't 100% line up. You might have just the slightest bend/hump on them, but it doesn't interfere with anything. There are a lot of solder points on this mod. More so than other CleanScreen mods, and it requires removing things off the board.

This is not for beginners. You need to be able to solder around tiny SMD resistors and pads that are the size of pinholes. If that isn't an issue then then you should be fine. You will also need some wire to hook up to the Hsync and Vsync which the store page does not tell you. This needs to be cut and trimmed so you may also need some wire strippers.

I personally love having the test switches on the board so I can see if everything works before closing it all up. It's wonderfully engineered. You get what you pay for. That's the best aftermarket screen mod on the market today.
