The Game Boy DMG IPS Backlight V5 Display is a full size modern IPS backlight for your original DMG game boy. This LCD is a formidable upgrade and has a PCB replacement for those of you who may be looking for a replacement LCD. There is finally a solution for those who have broken or damaged their LCD or ribbon cable during a backlight installation.

To use brightness, color, and OSD features on contrast wheel:
- Cycle normally for brightness
- Short press (one to two seconds) then cycle for color
- Long press (five seconds) to enter OSD (On Screen Display) mode.
WARNINGS:
- Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return.
- LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.
Orders placed with us will be fulfilled within 1 to 2 business days. Delays may occur depending on the volume we experience. This is especially true during sales and around the winter holidays. Requested returns/refunds/exchanges for items you believe to be defective, will be subject to a troubleshooting process with our support team before proceeding with a return/replacement/refund.
Modifying a product in any way, including but not limited to removing or adding components, will result in the voiding of our return/refund policy.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Defective or damaged parts are free to return within 30 days of purchase. Shipping costs are not covered for items returned at a customer's request or the refusal of the troubleshooting process with our support. Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.
Please note that international orders are not eligible for a prepaid shipping label for returns on defective products. Returns must be paid for by the customer.

We reserve the right to deduct an amount proportional to the chosen shipping return method from your refund if you order does not quality for a free return:

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, within 1-7 business days.
Refunds for shipping costs and Route Shipping Insurance will not be given.
LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS (IF APPLICABLE)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account. Then contact your bank or credit card company. It may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

You may cancel or edit orders yourself (before fulfillment) by following the steps in this guide. If you edit/cancel your order, you can expect a refund within 1 to 7 business days. Orders that have been fulfilled by our shipping team cannot have edits made or be canceled. We will do our best to assist customers in this process if needed, but it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their order and shipping information is correct before processing the order. I have been modding various systems on and off over the years and this is extremely easy to install compared to many earlier mods. My only remark would be that the screen isn't as bright as I would have liked, even at dull brightness, but it's leaps and bounds better than the original Gameboy screen. Very little soldering is involved if you not a fan of that, but I highly recommend this for purchase to give your old systems new life.
Amazing product. It is a very high quality screen at a reasonable price. It has multiple color pallets and has a very bright adjustable backlight. I love it in every way. (don't get it wet, mine did and some dark spots appeared but then went away when it dried)
I managed to get this installed into an original DMG-01 without too much trouble. I had to remove a few bits of the case per the instructions and cut a bit of the case back where the “contrast” button sits and that was all the case modifying needed. Soldering the speaker onto the new board was easy enough with the right tools handy. My OCD flared up a bit trying to get the new display perfectly level, so I spent a good deal of time assembling and disassembling and reassembling until I was happy with it. Overall, it is a quality product and I’m very happy with the results and the battery life is still very good with the backlight set to about 3. I can’t wait to have this with me the next time I need to do a lot of traveling. My only complaint would be the battery LED feels bright enough to burn your retina, but for the price- I can’t give this anything less than five stars.
Easy mod to do, everything was packaged well and pretty straightforward. Really enjoy the backlight and 36 color schemes. If you like the feel of the Original Gameboy this is a great mod that’s pretty simple with a tiny bit of soldering involved.
This mod is so stinkin cool!!! Thank you guys for doing this!! All my fam is enjoying the games I grew up on and they’re loving it!! I didn’t realize how spoiled our kids are these days with these newer LCD screens until I put one in my old GameBoy! I can see everything now! It’s so fun!!! I would recommend this mod to anyone!! The directions are easy and almost anyone can do it with a cheap solder gun and your YouTube videos! Thanks again!!!
