I was very excited to play my Pokédex styled Game Boy Advance SP made Handheld Legends. I eagerly opened the package and started playing! However, the first thing I noticed was that the speaker was broken. The speaker only works 50% of the time. When it does turn on it’s very tinny and static-like. I run the same upgraded speaker in my gameboy that I rebuilt/modded. And it sounds really good in my other Gameboy. Not sure what happened here. Maybe loose connection. But I don’t want to crack open the case, fix on my own, fearing it will void the warranty. Second, the left button d-pad is broken or has a very poor connection. You have to press the button very hard for it to register past the point of the *click* of the button. It’s frustrating since up, down, right will register you pushed the button at the exact moment you feel the *click*. When playing any game, especially side scrollers, it ruins the natural flow of the game. Hoping someone will reach back out to me for a resolution considering it was a very expensive console, I gave it two stars because the device itself is very aesthetically pleasing and nice to look at. But the device won’t play like a $345 console should play. It should be flawless for that price. It is obvious the device was not tested prior to shipping.

My Gameboy

I enjoy playing the retro Pokemon games so I had to get a Gameboy SP. It looks brand new as the picture shows and has a premium feel to it. I notice though that the back light keeps changing brightness as well as colour. It can be annoying but I still enjoy the game.

Thanks for your feedback! You may be triggering those feature with your fingers VIA the touch sensors located on the back of the LCD panel. You can turn off the touch sensor feature in the OSD menu under 'Touch Shortcut' if you would like.
