Very impressed

Didn't expect much but the picture quality is excellent, colours are correct and sound is good.
For a basic hdmi mod for the price this certainly does the job!

Wait for a rev 2

Installation was essentially the same as my n64 digital from pixel fx but the results are… well I guess you get what you pay for. Scaling is the real issue here, you get 3 “aspect ratios” to choose from. One with correct aspect ratio and two with a pretty severe horizontal stretch. The unstretched aspect ratio presents very large horizontal black bars on the horizontal and vertical giving you a nice looking but extremely small 720p image. The only real option is to use one of the the stretched ratios to fill the screen a bit more unless you have good zoom functionality on your tv. Otherwise it does what it says, and it is perfectly playable if ugly with the horizontal stretch. I’d wait for them to work out scaling if I had it to do it over. Not worth the cost or effort to install in its current form. The joys of the early adopter.

Scaling is garbage

The scaling is not great because when you put it into the true pixel format there are large black bars around the boarders of the picture. But it’s cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for.
