This was my first ever gameboy color mod. It wasn't really that hard to do. It's essentially a plug and go type set up. It was a bit challenging on some parts. The ribbon cable can be a pain at times when trying to have it lay in the right direction. My only gripe I had was the GBC shell was a bit tight in some areas. Seeing as how I had purchased a custom case from them, It's pretty much to be expected seeing as how it's a repo shell. Other than that, I am happy with the results. Every thing works really well.
display not as bright or richly colored as the IPS version. However it is cheaper and much easier to install. It is also does obviously outperform the original hardware in the same criteria. It is also smaller then both the original display and the IPS displays.
The items were delivered faster than expected. This install was super easy and quick. The screen changes all aspects of gameplay and the battery life wasn't critically affected. Just do it!
This was my first ever mod and it took me somewhere between 15-25 minutes to prep my GBC, plug it all in, and get it playing. I definitely recommend looking up their tutorial on YouTube if you're more of a visual/audio learner like me. The screen is beautiful and works amazingly. Gonna tackle the bigger screens next time, but this one was great for preserving a sentimental item.
With seeing the tutorial first was easy to install
Super easy to install, looks amazing. It seemed very very slightly off center with the custom lens. Maybe it's just me, but even so it's not a big deal at all.
