Game Boy Color Q5 IPS Glass Screen Lens

Several gripes with the foil lenses. First, there is no foil behind the word Power next to the LED light, so those words show the color of your shell instead and look bad. Look in the pictures above...no foil on any of the colored lenses on the word Power! Second, on the white lenses at least, there is only foil behind the words Gameboy Color, which makes it darker than the rest of the white of the lens, so there's a rectangle where the lens is darker in that spot, even with a white shell underneath. I recommend waiting until there is an updated version with the foil behind all of the white/colored area of the lens. No clue why these decisions were made...people would gladly pay more for a lens without these issues.

First order I received the wrong lens. After receiving the correct one, I ran into an issue removing the adhesive sticker on the back side of the lens. It didn’t peal off all the way and left some around the border of the lens that was visible in the viewing window. I had to remove this with alcohol and a cloth, and this created a need for what should have been unnecessary cleaning on the underside of the lens. I was never able to get it smudge/dust free after that point.

As for the lens quality, my only complaint is that the rectangular hologram sticker is visible through the white boarder (not just showing through “Game Boy Color”. Overall, decent for the price. But created an unnecessary hassle that left me with subpar results.

It’s a little bit more work than other products, requiring some soldering and trimming (if you use an original shell like me) but I love the extra features and on screen display. I really love being able to toggle to greyscale for when I’m playing original gameboy games.

i have no access to 3d printing in my area and printing small parts from a shop online is super pricey, but it looks great just not very beginner friendly i’d say because i am a beginner. i love how it looks tho and the screen is quality would give this a 5/5 if it was it wasn’t for the parts it didn’t come with
