NOTES:

This mod requires the battery compartment to be trimmed on OEM and OEM style shells. Please see install guide.
Installing this mod will make the use of regular batteries not possible. If you plan to eventually switch back to regular batteries, save any components removed during the install of this mod.

Turn the system off while charging.
Only charge with the system installed, DO NOT charge outside of the system environment.

Using uncertified hardware may result in more than 5v being delivered to your FunnyPlaying product. Damage caused by unsupported hardware voids our return/exchange policy.

Works good, no problems

I was nervous about GBC lipo mods because of reviews on similar products mentioning heating and potential fire hazards so I bought this one and babysat it closely for a few days without issue. Overcharge protection works (changes from blue while charging to green when finished). This assumes correct installation, following the instructions (do not charge while the unit is on or drawing any kind of current from mods not tied to the off switch) and shell clearance for the lipo but I have had no issue and am happy with the steady voltage (Higher than average amperage draw GBC with sound amp, light up button flex board, IPS Q5 non laminated, and also tested with flash cart draw). I particularly like the use of the existing port rather than having a hole in the shell. I now feel comfortable installing this in friend’s units and will do so soon. Not the easiest install for beginner soldering but doable if you watch some tutorials (never forget the flux, and clean it all up when you’re done!).

Works very well

Fits perfectly with the pre cut FunnyPlay shell & is fairly easy to install as long as you have a guide to follow. It is also simple to remove if needed. I like how it signals blue when charging and then green when fully charged. Great design and quality.

Game Changer

It so awesome to not have to spend a small fortune on batteries anymore, especially with an IPS screen mod. This kit was so simple to install and lots of fun as well. It is a total game changer for my Game Boy Color.

Works great! But….

Works great and it’s so nice not yo have batteries. Does take a bit of shaving down of the ridge in the battery compartment which is a pain. And even then it isn’t perfect. That’s the only reason it wasn’t 5 star for me. Battery door barely clips. The charging light is nice!
