  • Center screen installation, no offset display
  • 10 levels of brightness adjustment (requires soldering 3 wires)
  • Generic version can save brightness settings after powering off

Notes

Some key notes about this item:
  • The IPS panel's viewing area is slight larger than that of the AGS-101. In order to make the entire display visible, the LCD requires a lens with a slightly larger viewing area (~1 mm on each side).
  • Installation requires shell modification.
  • Soldering is required for brightness adjustment
  • Test the kit before installation! Once the display is mounted with the included double-sided foam tape, it cannot be safely removed. We ask that you test the kit by hooking it up before removing the screen protector and before mounting the display using the foam tape.
  • Purchase a glass screen or upgrade to a tempered glass screen separately. A screen is NOT included in this kit.

Warnings
  • LCD may break under pressure or if dropped. We recommend you exercise care when installing this product.
  • Please pay attention to prevent static electricity during installation. Wear static electricity bracelet before installation in dry environment.

ALL IPS LCDs are quality checked before shipping. Ripped or torn ribbon cables on the LCD will NOT be legitimate reasons for a refund. Each display is checked to function before shipping as well. TFT vs IPS

TFT IPS
General information Works when the backlight is off, and will look similar to the stock display. Only works when the backlight is on.
Outdoors Visible outdoors and indoors, even in bright light. Poor visibility outdoors or in bright light.
Power Very power efficient. Higher power consumption relative to TFT and stock displays.
Image Crisp image, but not to the same degree as an IPS display.
Viewing angles quickly lose quality. More crisp in presentation relative to the TFT display.
Viewing angles retain color and sharpness.
Installation Essentially a drop-in kit that doesn’t require any shell modification. The mod can be undone if desired.
No soldering needed.

Requires shell modification, some of which can be seen in clear shells. Due to the shell modifications, the mod is not able to be undone.
Soldering needed to enable the brightness control.

Amazing Results!

Great screen, looks so much better compared to the original screen, even an AGS-001 SP. Easy install and just great results!

Nice kit

Would've been 5 stars if it weren't for the poorly cut screen gasket which require further trimming. Otherwise very satisfied with my purchase.

What can you say?

It looks the same as funny but is cheaper. Install was the same step just make sure it works. IPS looks solid, no dead pixels, and no scratches. Thanks again.

Great kit

Includes everything needed, only things you need are the gameboy, tools and your brain.

The instructions on the site could use some work, they link to the FunnyPlaying tutorial with an older style ribbon cable. Theres plenty of guides out there for you to work your way through it, but it would be nice if the guide published on HHLs site was up to date since that's the first place most people would look when purchasing from this site.

Excellent

The installation instructions weren’t as straight forward as I had hoped, but I figured it out with some online research. The result is amazing. The color, brightness, and slightly larger size is a night and day difference from the original gba screen. I’ll never be able to play on a regular gba screen again.
