The buttons are of very good quality. My GBA now looks like new.
Game Boy Advance Shell
I ordered the replacement NES shell. Fast shipping. My issue is the overall quality of the shell. Not near as good as the clear ones. This one has a cheap feel to it. I had to trim some rough edges off. Due to some of the pieces not fitting together that great, there is a gap and you can see the screens ribbon cable. The shoulder buttons aren’t as clicky as the originals. The Included power switch rattled and was loose; had to use the original. The speaker holes were not aligned with the decal/insert. The d-pad, select/start, A and B buttons seem good. The included tri-wing screws are horrible and are prone to strip easily, so use caution. Also, even though I used original hinges, that satisfying “click” that I used to hear upon opening the console is now gone.
The shell is a far cry from the quality of the original Nintendo parts.
It's not the worst I've seen but it's on the lower end of parts I would want to use for my personal systems.
The original GBA screws are too long and require the screws that the shell ships with. If you use the original screws, they will end up poking out the front of the case... yeah.
The buttons, especially the shoulder buttons, are really low quality and cheapen the kit even more. Original buttons do fit and I would recommend that.
The battery cover is of a slightly different shape, and are not completely interchangeable between this shell and an original shell.
These issues aren't problems for every aftermarket case I've come across; the moldings for these particular ones just don't impress me.
Loved the matte black color it had to it,it went perfect with the green buttons i purchased. Threw in an ips v2 lcd and it was complete!
