WARNINGS:

  • You do not need to purchase a separate lens. Removing pre-adhered lens from LCD can result in damage to the LCD and will void product warranty. If you received an extra lens in your order, this was likely an included plastic lens with a shell and should NOT be placed on top of the pre-adhered lens.
  • Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return.
  • LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.

Broken screen

The screen was bad and after taking to them about the issue all they said was "you installed it so you broke it.I was not even close to finish and i have done lots of them in the past this is nothing new to me so when i tested it it had stripes from top to bottom but they said nope better luck next time for not testing before you installed .Buyer be ware if you have this same thing happened to you there is no refund or replacement its all your fualt .im not salty about not getting a replacement but i was truly trying to be an honest person but they don't give a rat's ass about you will never buy a thing from them ever will take my business elsewhere and the shell replacedment are shit to flimsy .

Verticle lines

I was really excited to fix up an AGS-001 that my friend gave me as a gift. I ordered a battery, a new shell, tools and this IPS panel. Unfortunately after completing my build and turning the gba on I saw that there were vertical black lines on the screen. It really sucks because this is such a beautiful screen and the images you see on here really don't do it justice.

Dead Pixel on mine

it was my first time installing an IPS screen, and the Quality is Amazing! But then i noticed there was a Dead Pixel smack dab in the center of the screen, haven't gotten any Emails back yet after i addressed it...

The Difference Between Unbranded and Branded LCD Displays for GBA SP

I did not realize that the only real difference between unbranded and branded is that the unbranded version does not have brightness control. I had to put an oddly large amount of effort into trying to figure out through comparison that oh this does not have the very basic feature of brightness control. it is only $4 difference, but the unbranded version in my opinion is far less in value. Controlling light through out the day is one of the necessities of a GBA. Once you have had that ability you can never go back, it literally hurts your eyes otherwise.

How to fix this, can we please have an added warning to the unbranded page that says "DOES NOT have the capabilities to control brightness". If you do that, this would be a 4star review because the unbranded is still a very nice screen and definitely an upgrade to the standard GBA screen, but that brightness is too much and constant, and people should know that the typical functionality does not exist in this product.

I'm sorry to hear of the issue! Please message us at support@handheldlegend.com so we may get this resolved for you.

My screen arrived with a large crack

My screen arrived with a big crack in it and the company simply started ignoring my emails after they said they’d send out a new replacement.
